Around Campus

 

Belkin Art Gallery: Offering cutting edge modern art and film, this is located opposite the Buchanan Arts complex and the eyesore arts tower.

 

Museum of Anthropology: Right next door to St. John's College, this is a great place to learn about Vancouver’s Aboriginal history and culture.

 

Wreck Beach: A twenty minute walk from St. John's College, this beach is great for a walk or a jog.

 

Chan Centre: Also next to Buchanan, pianist Alfred Brendel performs here at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23.

 

Vancouver City

 

Science World: Complete with an IMAX theatre, this is a good place to check out a movie and learn some facts about technology.

 

Vancouver Art Gallery: Painting, photography, and modern art, including the famous Emily Carr paintings.

 

Granville Island Public Market: Arts and crafts, fish and fruit markets, souvenir shopping, theatres, and boating trips.

 

Grouse Mountain: Offers a great 45 minute hike, chairlift, and skiing. Panoramic views of natural landscapes.

 

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra: One of Vancouver's finest experiences, located in the heart of downtown.
