Information for contributors

Manuscripts should be sent as e-mail attachments to Managing Editor Diana Wear, e-mail: diana@berkeley.edu.

Please observe the following instructions:

• All files should be in MS Word or RTF format.
• Please supply an abstract upon submission.
• Submissions must be double spaced and formatted for 8½ x 11 paper. Number pages continuously.
• Either footnotes or endnotes may be used and must be double spaced. Please use the footnote editor in Word. No bibliography is required.
• Images, captions, tables, and displayed equations should be sent in separate files. Do not embed images in a Word document or PowerPoint.

In matters of footnoting HSNS follows the Chicago Manual of Style humanities style. Authors are asked to put their manuscripts into proper style before submission. A style sheet will be available here soon.

Instructions for supplying publication-quality images will be available here soon. Scans should be made at 900-1270 dpi and saved in TIFF format. Print quality of images supplied in GIF or JPEG format cannot be guaranteed.
